if you want to find folders or files with caching there are 100 times better and more optimized solutions already. Google "everything" by void tools. Its free its optimized, it takes resouces to cache only when there is no load on pc or youre away and it isnt ugly abomination. 2mb btw

I feel like this will struggle with large disks Like, imagine a regular PC with 4 TB of storage space, and it can be filled with a bunch of folders with small files and other folders, instead of, like, big files. I mean, if anyone has a multiple terabytes on their drive(s), and there are A LOT of files, creating the cache may struggle, the cache file may have a very large size, and even the hashmap may be slow (or may not, I am not a professional who knows how they are designed, especially in rust). And I don't know what are it's limits regarding the amount of entries Though, windows usually creates cache all the time in background, and resetting the cache indeed takes a while, so... I have no idea if my concerns are valid
